Reflections on Spring

Reflections on Spring, originally uploaded by robinintheuk.

Day5 of robinintheuk Project365 www.p365.org/
Woke up feeling decidedly uninspired even in the midst of glorious sun.
Dixie and I followed a different path to the dog park and stumbled across a rather unkempt graveyard and this lichen covered angel.
Such a feeling of serenity there even though it sits on the A27 with noisy traffic in a constant drone. I wanted to capture the stillness of the moment... and yet now when I look at the image my eye is automatically drawn to the riotously blooming daffodils, ever a reminder of the beauty

Ye know on earth, and all ye need to know.

Tangled Up in Blue

Day3 of robinintheuk Project365 www.p365.org/
Dixie and I were on a walk at the foot of the South Downs. We both had our eyes glued to the ground, Dixie looking for possible prey while I was trying to gracefully traverse uneven terrain, tree routes and wet ground. I stopped for a moment and looked up and this is what I saw. So, you see, this is what happens when you stop what you're doing and look up: Magic!! :)

Angelic Impressions

Angelic Impressions, originally uploaded by robinintheuk.

Well, I wanted to follow up Day One's photo, "Doorway to Hidden Worlds", with its allusion to Secret Gardens, Hidden/Faerie worlds with something depicting angelic realms as an alternate reality in an aesthetic way as opposed to religious and/or philosophical. Having said that, I am not that happy with this photo or my grandiose ambitions for that matter...too pretentious? Oh well, tomorrow's another day...

This photo was taken in the church yard of my local Anglo Saxon church, St. James the Lesser.. Oh! the joys of living in the English countryside...

Doorways to hidden worlds

Doorways to hidden worlds, originally uploaded by robinintheuk.

Day 1 of Project365: Dixie (the dog) and I pass this almost everyday on our walk without taking note of its existence. Could it be a doorway to a hidden world? Are all doorways to hidden worlds this clumsily blocked off? Did Alice and her rabbit hole or Narnia and the wardrobe look as innocuous? Is it a mystery waiting to be unearthed or just another bit of English pastoral beauty?

My Project for project 365 is entitled: Ways of Seeing

While there is perhaps a province in which the photograph can tell us nothing more than what we see with our own eyes, there is another in which it proves to us how little our eyes permit us to see. ~Dorothea Lange

Using photography as a way to self-discovery ~ as a way of staying present in my own life without drowning in self-absorption...
